What
happens if Marc Jacobs, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton, and Yayoi Kusama cooperate?
Fashion that looks like art: The collection interprets the most emblematic
artworks of Kusama. But how did this come about? Jacobs met Kusama – who sees
her life as “a dot lost among millions of other dots”- in 2006 in Tokyo and became a big
fan: “the obsessive character and the innocence of her artwork touch me. She
succeeds in sharing her vision of ther world with us.” This collaboration –
which includes the iconic Louis Vuitton leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes,
accessories, watches and jewellery – will allow Kusama to spread her polka dots
infinitely across the world and convey her message: “Love Forever”.
